I live 7 hours away from this Bakery. I sent them a picture of a cake I wanted for my moms 90th birthday she lives in Orangeville. It was fantastic - the cake was exactly like the picture I sent - amazing and the cake was delicious. It's a great bakery and they also have all sorts of yummy teats and bread.
I bought 2 slices of cake yesterday from this bakery and they spoiled slimey and bitter.when I contacted the bakery she told me that you people are fucking crazy. I am brown person she was very racist and using alot of derogatory language towards me I didn't ask for money back I was giving a feed back. So sad that this still happening poor customer service.
A beautiful bakery. The staff are lovely. My kids love going here. We get two big toasted sandwiches which is enough to share between 4 of us. Then the desserts are fabulous. The price is also alot more affordable than most of the cafes in Orangeville.
So glad to have this place near by, Service PERFECT, always happy and helpful, the buns ALWAYS FRESH AND SOOO YUMMY, the dessert OMG must try, and they also have food now which is EXACTLY WHAT ORANGEVILLE NEEDED, ( Sooooo good, fresh and made in House) if you haven't gone here YOU MUST GO, so many things to choose from.. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK SON OF A CHEF
I love this bakery. The pastries are always super fresh and taste amazing. I always leave w more than intended and shocked w the amazing prices. Will constantly return yummy ??
We ordered a dessert tray and a dozen Canada day cup cakes for a BBQ we were going to. Both were a huge hit with everyone there wasn’t anything left at the end of the day. The service and the ordering were outstanding we definitely will be going there again
We needed a replica of our parent's wedding cake for their 50th Anniversary. Son Of A Chef Bakery did not disappoint! We provided a photo of the original and they duplicated it to a "T". It was delicious and our parents were so surprised that it was Exactly as their cake on their wedding day, including the taste - wonderful French Profiteroles. I wholeheartedly recommend Son Of A Chef Bakery for ANY of your baked treat needs!
We visited Orangeville on a day trip and stopped in for lunch. The food was fresh and delicious. The woman serving us was very friendly and efficient. The atmosphere was warm and inviting.
Ordered a cake for an 8 year old.I spent almost 1 hour talking to the baker and showed me cakes that she had done so I assumed the cake we got When I got there to pick up the cake we noticed that it didn’t even say Happy Birthday.The cake we received was not anything like I ordered.I showed the baker 4 pictures as well as let her take the photos off my phone.The owner tried to write Happy Birthday however it was very sloppy.I had to get stuff to make the cake presentable for the little girl.I asked for butter cream icing and I am not sure what type I got as it was very thick and hard to cut through.The top was a white chocolate mixed with food colouring.The cake was moist and the filling was nice however we are not happy with what we got especially with the price we paid for this cake.I had to spend another 40 to get stuff to make the cake decent.
Best thing to happen to Orangeville in years!!! Great fresh bread! Fantastic sweets!! Portuguese custard tarts in Orangeville is a game changer! Great family owned business and an absolute treat to have in Dufferin County!Â
I called to have a black forest cake made with really short notice, and the staff at son of a chef did a remarkable job. The cake was delicious will order again.
I would give negative stars, but that is not allowed. I ordered a Red Velvet Cake for my birthday, which was more expensive. When cutting and tasting the cake, I came to find that it was actually chocolate cake, and was very stale. None of my guests, including myself ate more than a few bites. The cake design was white frosting, and purple polkadots, and on pickup, all of the polkadots slid to the bottom of the cake. It took them over 20 minutes to fix the problem, as the designer kept taking other orders infront of mine. Terrible customer service on pickup, the workers had major attitude and were very rude and there was no apology for the inconvenience. Very unhappy, and will not be ordering from here anymore.

Not only is this the best bakery with the most amazing sandwiches, but they have gotten me out of a pickle not once, but twice. Thank you for looking after me. Kim
The best sourdough bread made the authentic way. Our family has gluten allergies, but we can eat the sourdough bread as the gluten evaporates during baking, if made properly. Thanks so much SOC -- born to bake, that is for sure.
If you love chocolate cannoli, you will love these!!!! The chocolate cream is delicious....definitely a must! I am glad I don't have to go into Woodbridge for them anymore!
