What is the 50/30/20 budgeting Rule?

50% of your income should be spent on your needs

30% of your income should be spent on things you want

20% of your income should be put towards your savings

Keep an eye on where your money is going.

One of the easiest ways to spend outside of your budget is to just tap that debit or credit card without thinking about it. It's ok to buy things that you want but just be mindful of what you are spending and review your spending habits regularly to make sure you are not spending outside of your means and you are staying within your budget.

Happy New Year!

It's a brand new year! And with that comes a bit of housekeeping.

Business owners record your odometer reading for the end of 2020 and the start of 2021

Take a photo of your odometer and keep it somewhere safe. You will need this information as proof of your ending mileage for 2020 and your beginning mileage for 2021.

Recorded properly auto expenses can be a completely bulletproof way of incurring non-taxable income. If you have car expenses let the business pay for some of them!
