Root Canal With A Crown

Root canals are only performed on teeth with crowns when your dentist feels it is absolutely necessary.  Most of the time a crown can be done without the need for a root canal. Root Canal performed with a crown may be needed due to decay, dead nerves, or inflammation. During the procedure a small hole is made into the top of the crown and the root canal is performed.
